While recognizing the potential for good, the World Pause Coalition also recognizes the grave dangers of uncontrolled proliferation of AI technology.
We have deep concerns regarding the uncertain risks an unregulated AI poses on the future of humanity by players that are monetarily motivated yet have little care for the dangerous impact on our communities.

The World Pause Coalition is an international multi-cultural & diverse group of professionals that have come together in solidarity with the combined interest and concerns of what an unregulated AI market will do to society.
The foundational mission of the World Pause Coalition is to educate. Education will help our communities realize the dangers of super Artificial Intelligence and educate them on the benefits of International AI Control, Non-Proliferation, & proper AI governance.
The World Pause Coalition will engage in research on the dangers of AI proliferation, conduct seminars, and engage in various gatherings to foster public awareness of the opportunities and dangers presented by rapid AI advancement. Our immediate action plans include:
We need to Pause AI at our current level to give us time to compare the dangers and benefits of AGI to the benefits we are already getting and will soon be getting from our existing advanced AI such as ChatGPT-5, Grok 6, or Claude 4.
The training & development of A.I. must be stopped immediately. A.I. has already displaced many jobs at its current iteration. As it continues to grow & "learn", it will eliminate many entry level jobs through "intelligent" yet inhuman biases. The environmental impact will be severe. Data privacy issues will be more apparent. It will spark WW3 as countries fight for dominance. Misinformation & manipulation will abound. Intellectual property will be stolen on a higher level. Basic human empathy will be replaced by an "artificial" god of man's creation.
Surprisingly to many, we are on track already to receive tremendous benefits from AI, right now, without ever having to take the risks of developing AGI. We are using our current AI to create all sorts of wonderful new things. New products. New medical treatments and new drugs for cancer, heart diseases and many other conditions. We are going to reap a thousand benefits from todays AI without ever having to move on to AGI. And we will face unfathomable affliction if we continue unregulated & unethical AI development throughout various sectors of our lives:
The Economic impact of AI will vastly bring wealth to a select few. But the majority will face job loss with an estimated 40 percent of job displacement & transformation.
Many advances in the medical field have already been and will continue to be positively transformative as a result of AI implementations. This is one of the few acceptable advancements AI offers.
Social Isolation via AI relationships, deepfake video atrocities, the steady attrition of privacy, AI worshipped as a god all point to a degradation of societal norms we are being pressured to accept.
Worldwide governance to regulate the advanced development of AI is absolutely necessary to effectualize a definitive pause on dangerous security implications & inherent AI risks.
With unregulated AI services, schools will have an extremely difficult challenge holding students accountable doing their own work. Critical thinking will also diminish because of over reliance on AI.
AI will have a small positive impact on families, but mostly it will bring further estrangement, anxiety, diminished social engagement and more, predominantly because of AI over reliance .

In practical terms, U.S. Congress needs to lead the way and pass laws regulating the AI industry in the same way any other industry is regulated that deals with potentially dangerous technology. We need a new federal office set up to regulate AI companies in the same way the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulates the nuclear energy industry in the United States. AI companies should have to get approval for new models as well as approval for significant changes to current models before public release.
